The Artedian

The Artedian is a Collection Management System in MS-Access 2000 available from http://artedi.nrm.se/fishbase_se/software/artedian/

It can be downloaded as an MDE file, and the full code version is freely available from the author.

Bibliographic tools - Zotero

I wondered if the Zotero should be included in the bibliographic tools here for review. It is a Firefox plug-in with a number of useful features, and could act as the basis for a browser based client.

Biomapper

Biomapper is a freeware software tool for niche modelling. It works in Idrisi GIS environment, and allows to perform Ecological Niche Factor Analysis from presence-only data on the distribution of a species and some environmental predictors, to project these niche models into habitat suitability estimates than can be mapped in the geographical space, and validation of these models.

It is available at: http://www2.unil.ch/biomapper/

EstimateS

EstimateS is a freeware application that has been long used by most taxonomists and ecologists to evaluate the quality of their inventories, or to estimate species richness when inventories are not complete. Now it also incorporates some estimators of faunistic similarity.
